Troubleshooting Errors
When Launching LXR*TEST 6.0
Error: When I run the LXR*TEST program, immediately
I receive error message(s) concerning an ODBC error, OR I encounter an error message
concerning the "LXRDATA.mdb" file.
Response: These messages likely indicate that the
Microsoft system components that were included in the LXR*TEST installation were
not properly installed. The first possible solution is to install the Student Runtime
program (located on the installation CD in the folder called "Student") - by installing
the Student Runtime program, the ODBC components are reinstalled. If that does not
resolve the problem, try uninstalling the LXR*TEST program using the Control Panel's
Add/Remove Programs option, and then reinstalling the LXR*TEST program.
Note: When installing LXR*TEST, it is suggested
that you close all other applications, including and especially any anti-virus programs
running in the Windows Tasktray.
Error: When I run the LXR*TEST program, immediately
I receive the error message concerning the "ADVAPI32.DLL" file.
Response: This error typically occurs on Windows
95 machines when running LXR*TEST. To correct this, please install Internet Explorer
version 4.0 or later on your machine - this will install the "ADVAPI32.DLL" file
which is necessary for accessing encrypted files (there is an encrypted file installed
by LXR*TEST).
